Hey everyone, it’s time to get a mobile-friendly website – right now.
If you’re a business owner, you’ve probably heard loads of people tell you it’s important that your website is “mobile-friendly” i.e. viewable and able to be interacted with on a smart phone.
Over the past few years, mobile web traffic has soared. So much so that it now accounts for about 40% of all internet searches.
So lately it’s been beneficial for businesses to differentiate themselves by having a mobile-friendly website where their competitors may have been lagging behind, it has meant they can pick up much more sales and enquiries from mobile users.
But now we’ve reached a milestone: Google has announced that as of the 21st April their algorithm will penalise those websites that aren’t mobile friendly, by bumping them waaaaaay down the search results page.
There is a free tool you can use RIGHT NOW to check whether your site is mobile (and Google) friendly already, or if there are things you need to fix before the 21st April.
Check it out here, just plug in your URL.
If your business doesn’t yet have a mobile-friendly website, don’t stress – we can set you up with one within 24 hours. Just get in touch via the form, here, or phone JJ on (+64) 022 100 1506.
Alternatively, if you already have a mobile site that fails on some of Google’s tests, we can help with advice or necessary tweaks.
